time,
its fleeting way bewilders.
a day will come
when you will not know my name
and my body will flounder.
till then we have each other,
our bodies pressed close
in our crazy upside down life.
we kiss. wear hipster hats.
sit with sandwiches and ice cream
and talk to dogs.
I shall be me and you shall be you.
together we're thick salsa,
spiced just right.

last night we danced on ice.
affirmed we like crows and chocolate.
we're pinned together
like wind and water.
your loud arms are my loud arms.
they say the stars know all. 
they're the masters.
let them carry our flowers
and welcome us home.
we cannot out run them.
inside our caresses,
inside our good life,
we mull over things to come,
our faithfulness, our good luck.
we become each other's hero.
